Sun Zhenyu
Position: China Ambassador to the WTO
Born in Hebei Province of China in March 1946, Mr. Sun Zhenyu graduated from Beijing Foreign Languages Institute in July 1969.
From 1973 to 1985, he served successively as staff member, Deputy Director and Director in the Third Department for Regional Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Trade. From 1990 to 1994, he served as Deputy Director General and Director General of Department of American and Oceanic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC), working on bilateral trade relations with U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Latin American countries. Since 1994, he served as Vice Minister of MOFTEC. He has been Ambassador and Permanent Representative of China to the WTO since 2002 immediately after China became a Member of the Organization.
